BIG FHA ANNOUNCEMENT: 🚨
Starting in mid-March, FHA will reduce its annual mortgage insurance premium (MIP) from 0.85% to 0.55% for most new borrowers. 🥳
“MIP” is the monthly fee that homeowners with FHA loans pay to insure their mortgages, on top of their monthly principal and interest payments. 💸
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? 🙋♂️🙋🏼♀️
FHA is about 8% of all loans today. 🏡
- A family buying a home with a $200,000 mortgage will save around $600 per year. 💰
- A family buying home with a $300,000 mortgage will save around $900 per year. 💵
- A family buying a home with a $400,000 mortgage will save around $1,200 per year. 💲
- A family buying a home with a $500,000 mortgage will save around $1,500 per year. 🤑
If you are doing a low down payment loan, or your credit is less than perfect, FHA may be the way to go. Just got cheaper too!
