It is nestled in the foothills of the McCullough Mountain Range and backs onto the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area. A neighborhood of note is the Mystic Ridge neighborhood. It is a gated neighborhood within the Sunridge master-planned community. The subdivision has 69 one-story homes that are based on four different core floor plans by Richmond American Homes, with 11 layout variations to choose from. Ranging from 3 to 5 bedrooms, these homes are perfect for families as well as empty-nesters and active seniors.

This little gem of a neighborhood is tucked away just blocks from both Sunridge Park and Anthem Hills Park. It’s directly across the street from Frank Lamping elementary school, next to Henderson International School, a few streets away from The Goddard School of Henderson, and adjacent to the neighborhood that houses the Coral Academy of Science Sandy Ridge Campus.

Sunridge Shopping and Dining

Sunridge Heights Parkway runs through the middle of Sunridge Heights, and the community is bordered by S. Other neighborhood parks in the vicinity include Horizon Crest, Harmony Park, and the 53-acre Anthem Hills Park with Skatepark. Kids can go here for the skateparks and roller hockey, or enjoy the other amenities including ball fields, multi-purpose fields, basketball courts, open grassy areas, picnic shelters, barbecues, a playground, and walking trails.

Aside from these wonderful park options, Sunset Park, one of the largest parks in the state of Nevada, is just up the street. This enormous 185-acre park boasts volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, frisbee golf, and an entire network of walking and biking trails. In the heart of the park is the 14-acre Sunset Park Pond where you can feed the ducks, watch the fountains, dip your feet in the water, and even go fishing.

For a bigger outdoor experience, you’re mere steps from Anthem East Trailhead. If you go even further, it leads you to the impressive hiking and biking trails of the beautiful Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area. Lake Las Vegas and Lake Mead are also less than 30 minutes to the east, where you can spend a day boating, fishing, camping, or playing water sports. While you’re there, you can take a visit to the Hoover Dam or the historic Boulder City. The first park is a fantastic dog park, Bark Park Dog Park at Heritage Park. This park is the closest location for residents and pets of Sunridge MacDonald Ranch and is acclaimed as one of the absolute best for our furry friends. It features 3 wide, spacious, and separate enclosures. One for large size breeds, one for medium size breeds, and one for the smaller breeds. All of these come with free gated and non-gated sprinklers. The park also features water fountains to keep them nicely hydrated and cool during those hot summer days, running through the park’s various obstacle courses that it features as well. The whole park is gated and secure, with lavatory facilities inside the park. This makes the park user friendly and convenient. It also shows the residents just how much the city of Henderson, Nevada really cares about their beloved pets.

A short trip down the road is the Cactus Wren Park, another highly-acclaimed location for residents of the Sunridge MacDonald Ranch area. A very nice, quieter, and almost hidden location, Cactus Wren Park is a more secluded sanctuary for residents and their pets. It is quite spacious and features multiple facilities for sports activities. It has a baseball field, a skate park, a playground for children, and of course, enough open green grass to play soccer as well. This park also sports many of the same facilities for pets as the previously mentioned Bark Park Dog Park at Heritage Park, but with the added bonuses of the sports facilities included by the city of Henderson in its design. However perhaps one of the best perks of this particular park is highlighted during sunset, as this park is particularly famous for its magnificent views. The brilliant and colorful sunsets of the Las Vegas Strip, and its dazzling light shows during the nighttime are a spectacular sight to behold for any new resident. 

Sunridge Schooling

Sunridge at MacDonald Ranch is part of the Clark County School District, and is zoned for CCSD’s top rated STEM-focused Frank Lamping Elementary School, Glen Taylor Elementary School, Del Webb Middle School, and Coronado High School. Nearby charter schools include the neighborhood’s own Coral Academy of Science-Sandy Ridge Campus, and the nearby Pinecrest Academy-Sloan Canyon.

Private school options are also available, such as Henderson International School, The Goddard School of Henderson, and Foothills Montessori School. The St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic School, the first school for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Vegas, is located on the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church’s 22-acre campus on Sunridge Heights Blvd. It caters to students from Pre-K to 8th grade.
